Leadership in the Creative Industries
The semester topic of SS 17 was to conceptualize a Transmedia Game/web-serial for a (fictive) political campaign.
„Reboot Truth“ is an Alternate Reality Game with a fictional story:
It takes place in Germany in the near future. The election for Bundestag is close and one splinter party sets new standards in this process.
TES, the European Solution party rises from the ashes and becomes the star of the media due to their open policy
and their attitude/mindset towards data privacy and the use of personal data for commercial reasons.
For TES, the planned law that will allow companies to collect even more private data and to sell them to insurance companies or employers is against human rights.
But they seem to be the only party with this extreme stance on data privacy. And that’s what pushes the party and their charismatic leader Marcus Mozarov.

User Journey
It was important to us to give the player an essential role in the game as well as in the story.
Therefore we created the 17s decisions with no tremendous effect on the story but will effect on the gameplay.
Balance
The story was divided into five episodes to give the game an approachable timeframe. With this arrangement the game can be easily played within a week. As our target group are millenials that work or study the episodes should be not longer that 10 to 15 minutes each. This leaves the player time to watch and play the games and still have the possibilty to follow a regular week schedule.
