Story outline
“Beyond” begins with the prequel experience where the first information on the characters and the technology is spread as a discourse of the advantages and dangers of the Beyond technology.
The prequel leads to the theatre play that surrounds the mysterious death of Linda, wife of the protagonist Ben. When her corpse is found, the police force, Olaf their consultant, and Ben spiral into the action – both in the real world and the Beyond. After Ben finds out that the Beyond avatar of his wife is still online, he ventures out into the Beyond to find her.

Is the AI program capable of feelings?
Alongside intelligence and self-awareness come emotional capabilities – they are the core of the AI perceiving the Beyond as hurtful in the first place. That would help him to find out, what connects and defines us as humans (or just give a deep insight into user behavior for the further development process).
But the AI was still in a very early stage when Olaf had to leave the Beyond company, still working on the basic setup of the neural network. He left the AI in the Beyond for a test and never got to pull it down again.
The danger of the futuristic virtual Internet and the how and why an AI can experience real life.
