LufTraum is a media art installation which sends the visitor’s wishes and dreams onto a journey through the film museum. Every wish is unique and is being articulated by the visitor via a connected typewriter. The journey of the wish is not predictable as it is dependent on the interaction made by other visitors and other random influences. Throughout their journey the wishes can meet each other, being transformed and changed permanently. An interplay between wishes, their ways, destinations, companions and influences is being created. Lastly the visitors decide whether the wishes come true.
The topic LufTraum deals with are wishes and dreams in movies and games. While dreams and their fulfillment in movies and games is predetermined by the authors and directors of the works, visitors of LufTraum can make their own wishes visible. They can influence the wishesbring them to fulfillment or even destroy them. The journey starts at the ground-floor in a huge vertical tunnel with a height of 14 meters. The events on the wall can be observed at three platforms. On every platform the visitors can interact with the installation by using different sensual interfaces.
